Empowering a Sustainable Future Together

To transform local waste streams into renewable energy solutions that promote environmental sustainability, create economic opportunity, and drive technological innovation across Washington State and beyond.

Our Mission
Our Vision

A sustainable future where clean, renewable energy powers resilient communities. Through innovation, environmental stewardship, and a commitment to social equity, we seek to build lasting economic and environmental benefits for generations to come.

About us

Yale Energy Inc. is a next-generation clean energy company founded by CEO Yale Wong. Built on the lessons of Mr. Wong's past ventures, Yale Energy uses advanced technology, deeper operational experience, and a scalable model to deliver efficient, sustainable fuel solutions. With a focus on innovation, circular economies, and energy independence, the company reflects Mr. Wong’s evolved vision for renewable energy.

Previously, Mr. Wong founded and led General Biodiesel Inc., which he grew into Washington State’s leading biodiesel producer. The company became known for its use of waste-based feedstocks and local sourcing under his leadership.

With over 25 years of entrepreneurial experience, Mr. Wong has driven growth across energy, tech, and infrastructure. Before his work in renewables, he founded Compass Communications Inc., one of Washington’s largest independent broadband providers and a pioneer in fiber optics and streaming technologies. In 2012, he was appointed to the WA STEM Board by the Governor.

Mr. Wong is also a longtime supporter of civic and environmental organizations, including the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition (DRCC) and the Bruce Lee Action Museum (BLAM). His contributions have earned recognition from business and community leaders alike.

About the founder

Yale Energy transforms used cooking oil, animal fats, and other organic waste into ASTM-compliant drop-in biodiesel, requiring no engine modifications, no new infrastructure, and delivering instant carbon reduction. Our solution is plug-and-play, designed to meet the needs of municipalities, transit fleets, and industrial users.

What we do

102 metric tons of CO₂ kept out of atmosphere

90,000 pounds of used cooking oil diverted from landfills

68,000 gallons of water conserved by choosing biodiesel over petroleum diesel

Yale Energy collects used cooking oil and other organic waste, like animal fats and trap grease, refines them into clean biodiesel, then supplies fuel providers and fleet operators with this sustainable alternative to petroleum diesel.

We collect used cooking oil, animal fats, and grease trap waste from local restaurants and providers.

Waste is filtered, then converted through transesterification using methanol and a catalyst. Glycerin is separated, and the biodiesel is purified, washed, and dried to meet fuel standards.

All raw materials are processed at Yale Energy's state of the art facilities, to be located in Seattle, Washington.

In the past, we have indirectly supplied B100 biodiesel fuel to Washington State Ferries, trucking fleets, and semi-haulers operating on B10 to B20 blends. This helped reduce emissions and meet state mandates for cleaner, locally sourced fuels compatible with modern diesel engines. These deliveries were made under prior operations and through different entities managed by our team.
